99/100

I realised this morning that after dropping a little over 16lbs so far this year I'm now lighter than I was at any point in 2014. Another 19lbs to go to get down to the weight I was in September 2013 (lowest I got to, since starting this journey in 2010). Then I can aim to lose another 17lbs to get down to the lowest weight I've ever been as an adult (in Sept 2006). Then I can think about dropping another 10lbs to get out of the 'overweight' category and into a "healthy BMI" for the first time since I was about 18 yrs old I'd guess. Then losing another 6lbs would take me to a weight 100lbs lower than my heaviest ever weight (which was in January 2010). I might never get that low, or want to later in this process, it doesn't really matter right now, but regardless, 16 then 19 then 17 then 10 then 6 sounds a whole lot more achievable than 68. :-)

Today was my long run day, and I was aiming for 10 miles, my last big run before the half marathon in two weeks' time. I ended up having to cut it short by a couple of miles, which was frustrating, but regardless, my average pace for the 7.8 miles I did was much better than the average pace I've been hitting on my long runs over the last few weeks, and that ongoing improvement is what's really keeping me motivated. I passed 10kms today a couple of minutes earlier than I have over the last few weeks, and indeed faster than any 10km i've done in quite a long time. It's still some significant way off my best, but as I continue to lose weight, get fitter, train harder, and get this focus, I know that I'll be hitting PBs again in no time. :-)

I keep mentioning that part of this year is addressing stuff in my head, as well as the physical aspects of my situation. This weekend I'm having a major declutter, sort out, and tidy up - the main aim, apart from helping me move towards living a less cluttered and sometimes mentally exhausting life, is to help me feel like I'm taking control, and making decisions that are good for me. Plus, it's another sneaky way of keeping me active even when I'm indoors!! Lol. x
